When the knowing that I needed to paint this struck, I was about halfway through another painting for my own journey, which is now back on the table ready for further development. This particular piece — Her Becoming — is not one of the many paintings channeled for myself … reflections of, manifestations within and revelations for the unfolding of my own life. Rather, this piece is channeled as a gift and celebration of my darling friend and Soul Sister, Danielle. Celebration of rite of passage. A deep, profound transformation of which I have had the honor and blessing to observe over these past years, now coming to such a powerful pinnacle, I could barely keep my eyes dry the whole way through.
It is not my place to speak to all that Dani has endured this year, these years, this lifetime, these lifetimes… but I do have the honor of speaking to what Spirit shows me here, a glimpse into the multifaceted beauty of her Soul, as channeled by her own loving Spirit Guides through me, merely a paintbrush.
As the imagery that Spirit channeled emerged, I saw Dani emerging herself, not only in portrait, but as if from an abyss. The Great Womb. Encompassed on all sides with the petals of hibiscus, a flower representing deep transformation, Divine feminine power, honor, resilience and love, a likeness of Danielle rises from the depths, reborn, with what reminds me of Egyptian markings around her eye. Of course, that is no surprise, with her being so attuned to Goddess Isis energy! Now our Beloved Divine even paints her as such, further sealing her beautiful connection.
Near the end of the process, I realized there was a great snail facing her, whose energy was even within her, flowing out from her facial cavity, between the throat and third eye chakras. Snail Spirit, representing patience, presence and, through its spiral shell, the never-ending cycle of transformation — birth, presence, death — a promise that even in the darkest of days the Light of dawn is soon to come.
Danielle, I love you so much. I am so grateful for you in my life and for the honor and blessing to channel this painting of celebration of you — of Your Becoming. And as always, thank you to our Beloved Divine Source, Who is All There Is.
